Mid-year resolutions!

As you might remember from our Christmas special last year, we aren't big fans of the 'new year, new you' phenomenon. To us, it's better to start a New Year as the same you that is open to some lifestyle changes later on down the line. Well... here we are mid-way through 2015 and we think it's time for a little TLC (Tender Loving Caboodle).

Before you panic and start thinking that we are going to launch a fitness dvd (heaven forbid!), we talking about something a little more holistic, alongside the heart-rate heightening, so take a look at some of our favourite feel-good items and come along with us as we journey through to Christmas, aiming to feel good.

Dragonfly Tea has long been one of our favourite brands and now that they have released this wonderful caffeine free blend with camomile, liquorice and fennel, we love them a little more. Soothing for the tummy and calming for the mind, this tea is perfect for letting go of the stresses of everyday life and helping your digestive system to deal with any naughty little treats you enjoy! Best of all, it tastes YUMMY, so it is our new favourite end of the day tipple. Thank you Dragonfly!

This confusing looking device is the TomTom Multisport Watch and one of Amy's most favourite things right now. Originally bought because the strap looks a little like polka dots (no, that is not a joke!), this wonder-watch is a one stop fitness motivation tool that is helping us make the most of our new-found determination to get a little healthier and stronger. We feel super fancy wearing it, massively tech for being able to use it (it's not difficult at all, but don't tell everyone that!) and a lot healthier now we know when we should be putting a little more effort into our Davina workouts! Never mind a summer body, we are all about feeling good for winter!

With our calming tea drunk and effective workouts done, what could be better than a relaxing face mask? We love making our own, with our fave being an avocado, honey and oats special, but when these green tea peel off masks are such a good price, it's hard to overlook them! We like popping one on, curling up on the sofa and watching a Game of Thrones episode. No shame in some gloriously guilty-pleasure TV and a little self-pampering! Don't forget to moisturise afterwards though or all your efforts will be wasted!

You've probably realised by now that even though we are serious about feeling good and being healthy, doing it while wearing super cute accessories is never a bad thing in Caboodle world, so these trainers are nothing short of dreamy! Ok, so we probably won't be rocking into a gym in them anytime soon, but a gentle jog on a summers day or walking to yoga will certainly see us wearing these. After all, what's so bad about wanting to look good if it helps you to feel good?

Don't forget... eat well, don't withhold treats from yourself and be happy. Everything else is just the rainbow sprinkles on the top of an already wonderful life sundae.

The rise of the surprise!

Here at Caboodle  we love surprises and snailmail so anything unexpected or fun arriving in our postbox is always a bonus, whether it be from a penpal or a loved one from around the corner or the other side of the world! But more and more of us are treating ourselves to surprises in the post, so here is a selection of our faves that have dropped on our doormats recently.

As you probably know we already have Lucky Dip Club subscriptions as we shout about them from the rooftops at every opportunity (We love you Leona!!) and loved the concept of them collaborating with Folksy for their special box earlier this month. For us nothing can beat the Lucky Dip Club boxes, the themes, colourfulness and fun personalised items are the best and there is no doubt that Leona is the queen of the subscription box in our eyes! Definitely worth setting your alarm for!

Our LDCFolksy box contained lots of summery goodies from some fabulous UK makers, the details of all of them can be found on the Folksy Blog page, and our selection definitely had lots of ice cream themes running through, which is great as one of us is ice cream obsessed!

Our fave item though was definitely the I Am Acrylic carrot brooch which stole both our hearts, thankfully we both got one in our boxes otherwise there may have been a fight haha!

Since the success of LDC there has been more handmade inspired and lucky dip boxes appearing across Instagram, again no one is doing it quite like Leona (or with the same pizazz we might add!) but we are all for shouting about creatives and handmade so want to share some others with you too that we have bought and enjoyed.

One of our favourite artists at the moment is the glorious beauty Viktorija at AndSmile. Her artwork brings joy to our souls and her colourful characters perk us up no end! She recently did a lucky dip box of items from her Etsy shop, so one was quickly snapped up by us!

We loved the selection of prints, cards, brooches and earrings that arrived, her illustrations are just gorgeous however they are used and enjoyed. Some of the items were meant to be earmarked as future gifts but if they leave our clutches it will be a miracle! SO DAMN CUTE!!!!

Another lovely maker whose jewellery always catches our eye is Ladybird Likes. Her lucky dip box was actually one of the first we ever bought and we featured it in our first issue in the Summer Lovin' pages. Great selection of goods that fitted our likes perfectly and you get a lot of bang for your buck! Keep an eye on her Instagram for future lucky dip sales, as we are!

Next is a lovely idea for us cross stitch loving girls, behold the Geeky Little Stitcher Club! A monthly subscription to a little box of goodies with super cute themes like cupcakes, burgers and pizza as well as fun quotes. Very affordable so a great gift for yourself or a crafty loved one, but get in there quick as they sell out fast! We managed to snag Jess's first box (keep missing the other ones though, doh!) which was a delight as it was avocado themed - OUR FAVE!!! You get everything you need in the box including hoops and some fun little surprises are thrown in too. Marvellous!!

Lastly comes the Stocking Box, which brings together lots of handcrafted goodies from a selection of makers, and is a great way to find out about new crafters you might not have heard of before. The idea is it is like a Christmas stocking full of lots of little titbits so you get lots of knick knacks, they don't have themes just focus on the handmade element. Our fave items were the letterpress biscuit coasters by Mac and Ninny and the jammy dodger biscuit brooch by Upsy Daisy Craft . Hmm sensing a theme there haha!

So whether you are treating yourself, buying as gifts or a bit of both, we love the idea of subscription boxes that support our fave makers and shakers!
